George Lang fights and wins for Butler County.

State Senator George Lang is serving his second term in the Ohio Senate, representing the 4th Senate District, which includes most of Butler County. For the 136th General Assembly, Lang is serving as Senate Majority Whip, a leadership role responsible for helping to guide the Senate’s legislative priorities in order to advance a conservative agenda.

George Lang fights for the American Dream because he has lived it. The grandson of a Cuban immigrant who spent part of his childhood in foster care, he learned early on the value of hard work and perseverance. He set a foundation for a lifetime of entrepreneurship as a teenager, when he started a neighborhood lawn care business.

A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in Communications and minors in Marketing and Speech, Lang began his career at Procter & Gamble, where he spent eight years in sales and management. He then became an entrepreneur once again, founding businesses that today employ more than 100 Ohioans.

George Lang has dedicated over two decades to public service in West Chester and Butler County. After seven years on the West Chester Board of Zoning Appeals, he was elected Township Trustee in 2003. He provided steady leadership, guiding West Chester through the Great Recession by governing as a fiscal conservative. Under his leadership, West Chester earned national recognition as one of America’s best places to live and became a regional leader in job creation and economic development while maintaining strong fiscal discipline.

In 2017, George was appointed to the Ohio House of Representatives, where he served two terms. During his time in the legislature, he co-founded the Business First Caucus, which has grown into the largest, bipartisan caucus in the General Assembly. The Business First Caucus brings together lawmakers, entrepreneurs, and organizations to support policies that help Ohio’s small businesses thrive.

Elected to the Senate in 2020, Lang continues to champion policies that promote economic opportunity, support job creation, and strengthen Ohio’s reputation as a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

George and his wife Debbie have been married for 41 years. They have two daughters, Amy and Alicia, and reside in West Chester.
